Overview

Climate Justice Alliance (CJA) is a true grassroots movement. CJA was formed in 2013 when frontline organisations and communities came together to combine the voices of environmental and climate justice groups across the US. This unity gives grassroots organisations a seat at the table alongside large international charities.

We started working with CJA in 2021, providing funding to carry out their ambitious plans for grassroots climate action. In particular, our grant will support:

  • Reinvest in Our Power: an initiative aimed at enabling community investment in local goods, like community-owned renewable energy projects, sustainable land management and farming programmes.
  • Our Power campaign: Bringing together frontline communities and climate justice organisations to coalesce on messages and strengthen their voices.
  • Continued advocacy to ensure those impacted by climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy are heard.
