Overview
Equimundo (previously Promundo-US) is a global leader in advancing gender equality and preventing violence by engaging men and boys in partnership with women, girls and individuals of all gender identities. It works to transform harmful gender norms and unequal power dynamics through its research, advocacy and norms change tools.
The fact that men do less unpaid care work around the world continues to be both a bi-product and a driver of gender inequality. Women's time and thus their opportunities are limited because of the expectation that they assume a greater share of the unpaid care work. Equimundo's unique approach to working with men and boys has been successful in increasing the time men spend on unpaid care.
Our grant supports Equimundo's MenCare initiative to drive men’s full and equitable participation in unpaid care work with a focus on driving changes in workplace norms and policies. The funds support Equimundo's - influential research on men and caregiving, an initiative to ensure governments and businesses are vocal and accountable for their commitments to care, - the adoption of a successful gender transformative intervention in the workplace to change employees’ and employers’ attitudes to men as caregivers, and - core communications support.
